Singapore Ranks First on EC-Council’s Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard in February 2022

The top 10 spots on last month’s leaderboard went to Certified Ethical Hackers from Singapore, the Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso, Brazil, and the Philippines.

March 14, 2022, Tampa, FL: In February 2022, cybersecurity professionals across the globe competed for coveted top positions on EC-Council’s Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard, a platform that acknowledges the achievements of top-notch Certified Ethical Hackers (C|EHs). The leaderboard standings for February 2022 reflect the diversity of the ethical hacking community, with the top three spots going to participants from Singapore and the Netherlands.

The Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard promotes the growth of the international ethical hacking community by encouraging leading C|EHs to put their skills to the test and earn a place in the top 10 rankings. To be eligible for a spot on the Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard, individuals must pass both the C|EH knowledge-based exam and the 6-hour C|EH (Practical), a proctored, hands-on challenge based on real-world threat scenarios. Those who successfully complete these rigorous assessments are awarded the C|EH (Master) credential.

Jun Hong Tan, a systems engineer in Singapore, achieved a score of 87%, putting him at the top of last month’s leaderboard. He says, “Some of the tools used in the course I’ve had a chance to use before, while others I didn’t even know before I took the course,” noting that the C|EH (Practical) provides participants with “a good bag of tricks to learn and know.”

Second place went to Jordy Barrancos, a cloud solutions architect in the Netherlands, with a score of 85%. He described the C|EH (Practical) as “a great learning environment with many interesting subjects” and added, “I am addicted to Capture-the-Flag–style challenges, and the C|EH (Practical) exam used these techniques aptly.”

Ethical hacking is a career path with extensive growth opportunity, given the escalating frequency and severity of cyberattacks.
