EC-Council joins hands with the Philippines‘ Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity Industry Association (ICTCIA) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to promote jointly developed cybersecurity courses.

The Philippines, January 28, 2022: In a move to strengthen cybersecurity education in the Philippines, EC-Council is partnering with ICTCIA and TESDA to deliver training that will address the area’s increasing talent needs. The industry stalwarts aim to provide cybersecurity and technical training to TESDA’s program scholars through this strategic alliance.

The breakthrough training resulting from the partnership is designed to standardize a career path for students in cybersecurity, data security, data privacy, and other related courses in information technology. These programs will include credible certifications from EC-Council that create job readiness for cybersecurity professionals.

The partnership arrives at a time when the cybersecurity and information security skills gap is continuing to increase at a dramatic rate. The training programs will facilitate the promotion of cybersecurity awareness in the Philippines and encourage participants to develop professional competencies to combat cybercrime. EC-Council, whose mission is to raise critical IT and cybersecurity skills, is exclusively represented by Wissen International in the Philippines.

Of the partnership, President and CEO of EC-Council Group, Jay Bavisi, says, “Cybersecurity is of paramount importance and is a shared responsibility in today’s threat landscape. The collaboration with TESDA is part of a significant effort to promote awareness of security initiatives and threats and to enhance knowledge and skills among Filipinos. Security is a primary concern today in the wake of the significant rise in cybercrime. EC-Council is committed to facilitating top-notch cybersecurity training to TESDA program scholars and pushing them to advance their cybersecurity careers. We believe this partnership will go a long way in bridging the cybersecurity education and talent gap and help create a robust workforce that is equipped to handle cyber threats.”

Florencio F. Sunico, Jr., CESO III, Regional Director of TESDA-NCR, says, “Based on research and a series of validations, it has been confirmed that area-based and demand-driven TVET is more responsive to the critical needs defined by industries and employers. This means that demand-driven training programs will produce rightfully skilled workers needed by the industries, and one of the strategies to achieve this is industry-led skills training programs. To strengthen this, TESDA-NCR partnered with the industries from the priority sectors of the region and utilizes the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) for them to implement training based on their skills priority, to be conducted by the industry experts. This initiative shall ensure jobs for TESDA graduates as most of the participating industries will hire them after completing the programs. Moreover, TESDA-NCR is pleased that the ICT and Cybersecurity Industry Associate (ICT-CIA) is one of the pioneering industry partners and implementers of the Tulong Trabaho Scholarship Program (TTSP) under the demand-driven strategy.”

In collaboration with the authorized training partner in the Philippines, TechEd Global Academy, Wissen will play a significant role in implementing training for the newly developed cybersecurity programs. These programs have been designed to include entry-level, executive, and specialist-level courses to establish a roadmap for cybersecurity professionals. These courses—namely, Cybersecurity Technician Level 2, Cybersecurity Specialist Level 3, and Network Security Associate Level 2—seek to empower individuals and organizations to professionally upskill their teams.
