The top 10 spots on last month’s leaderboard went to Certified Ethical Hackers from Portugal, Singapore, Italy, the U.S., Turkey, Indonesia, and Chile.
February 10, 2022, Tampa, FL: In January 2022, cybersecurity experts around the world competed for a position on EC-Council’s Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard, a platform that recognizes the accomplishments of top Certified Ethical Hackers (C|EHs). The leaderboard standings for January 2022 reveal a diverse presence of ethical hackers, with participants from Portugal and Singapore taking the top three spots.
EC-Council’s Global Ethical Hacking Leaderboard fosters the growth of the ethical hacking community by inviting outstanding C|EHs to put their skills to the test and earn a coveted top 10 ranking. To be eligible for the Ethical Hacking Leaderboard, individuals must pass the C|EH Practical, a 6-hour proctored exam based on real-world threat scenarios. Individuals who successfully complete the challenging C|EH Practical are awarded the C|EH Master credential.
Pedro Vieira, a security engineer from Portugal, took first place on the leaderboard with a score of 86%. He says, “I learned a lot in the C|EH Practical. While it is not an easy certification, I invested a lot of time in achieving it. The course materials are excellent, and the contents are very well explained. I enjoyed doing the exercises in the labs.”
Today, ethical hacking is a profession that offers extensive opportunities for growth. Despite the considerable demand for ethical hackers around the globe due to massive increases in cyberattacks, there is currently an insufficient supply of cybersecurity talent to meet the challenges of combating cybercrime. The C|EH program is designed to fill this gap by teaching cybersecurity professionals the skills and knowledge that they need to succeed in real-world threat scenarios.
The C|EH is an industry-recognized credential that prepares participants for a variety of promising career paths in cybersecurity, including security analyst, manual ethical hacker, vulnerability assessment analyst, and network security engineer. The ANSI-recognized program trains learners to assess an organization’s security posture in real-world scenarios.
